His Kajira

While on one of their journeys to the mainland, Tolemus spotted a beautiful earthen barbarian girl, her name was Chong su li and he took her as his girl.  Her passion for him is as powerful as her desire to protect this man whom she loves more than her own life and whom she serves with all the desires of her heart.

Su became his En Sofora, and the love between them was unquestionably one of the most powerful that could exist between a free man and his kajira.

His Companion

While visiting Ar Station and fighting in the arena there for sport, he met a girl named Salena Crain.  He felt something very stirring for her and wasn't sure what it was, but in time, after nearly making her his se girl with su, he discovered that what he felt for Salena was quite different from what he felt for su, though for both of them what he felt was a very deep love.

He took Salena to be his life's companion  and they returned together to Teletus.

He would never love another woman as  his beloved Salena, mother of their children, instructor to their slaves, matriarch of the household, his soul mate, his heart and his most beloved companion.

Karsten Neotolemus

"Tolemus"

Tolemus was born after his father was murdered by his cousin.  The Ubar of Tabor, Cobran Neotolemus wanted his two brothers to become swords for his island in order to ensure he would remain the Ubar and in power.  When they refused and moved to Teletus, Cobran vowed revenge.  As his eldest son became of age, because Cobran is basically a coward, he sent his eldest son to eliminate his brother Telephus Neotolemus.  Menauloxzius went to Teletus and spotted Telephus and assassinated him with an arrow then headed back to Tabor to report that his Uncle was dead.

Cobran was well pleased with the news, but what he didn't know is that Kalliope, the Companion of Telephus, was with child.  She didn't discover until after her mate was dead that she was with child. Kalliope returned home to her Father, Antilocus, and there she eventually gave birth to her son, Karsten Neotolemus.  As he grew he was watched over by his grandfater who adored the lad. Antilocus made sure that Tolemus had the best of teachers who would teach and train him to be the greatest warrior that Teletus, and possibly the world, had ever seen;  that mentor was Aeolus Karron.

Aeolus Karron ~  Tolemus' mentor, brother and best friend.

As Tolemus grew older and stronger his fighting skills fast became unrivaled except by his mentor, Aeolus.  It was not until he had defeated Aeolus the third time that he was ready to take command of the Elite Teletusians, a position he held with pride.  The brotherhood between Tolemus and Aeolus was such that to get to one you would have to go through the other any time they were together.  They always covered each other's backs in battle.

The Ubar, Garog, heard of the young man's fighting skills and wanted him on his side so he sent for him and had him made the commander of the Teletusian Prime forces, which made him the En-Sword of the Island.  Nobody dared challange the young man as the longest battle he'd faught to the death lasted only 10 ihns and the man he faught was a Torvaldsland champion.

Ubar Garog

Garog said of Tolemus , "Of all the warriors loved by Odin, I hate him the most."

Garog and Tolemus locked horns many times about the treatment of the islanders and about Garog never setting an example for  his warriors by fighting his own battles once in a while.

Tolemus deliberately arrived late for a battle in which he was called to fight one of Garog's challangers to the death and a furious Garog exclaimed "I should have you whipped for your impudence!"

By now Tolemus' disdain for the Ubar was well known so his response to the man's threat of whipping was not unexpected.

"Then perhaps you should fight your challanger yourself, Ubar.  Imagine a Ubar who fights his own battles.  Wouldn't that be a sight?"

Finally the dispute came to a head one day and Tolemus displayed his absolute sway over the Elite Teletusians when he walked out on the Ubar during battle and his men followed.  They left the Isalnd and went to the other islands and along the Western coastlines of the mainland.  Their motto was Trade or Raid.  If the people of the island, city or village refused trade with them, they would simply raid the island and take what they wanted.  They became feared, respected and hated.

Menauloxzius found out that Telephus had in fact fathered a child and that he was now a man, so he set sail for Cos where he confronted Tolemus and a death match quickly ensued.  The battle was won quickly and efficiently by Tolemus who impaled the head of his enemy on the top of his ship's mast.

When Tolemus recieved word that his grandfather had been imprisoned by Garog he ordered his men to set sail for Teletus once again.  When they returned to the island Tolemus issued the challange to the Ubar.

The Ubar reluctantly accepted the challange in order to save face with the men who had been loyal to him and the battle ensued.  Tolemus, true to legend, fought as if he were Odin himself.

And when the dust cleared, Tolemus, as he'd sworn when he left the Island stood over the dead body of Garog and used Garog's own sword to claim his head.

The Teletusian people were more than happy to see their young hero and champion become their Ubar and they were pleased to welcome his Companion, Salena, as their new Ubara.
